Description
The Soğanlı valley was inhabited by Byzantine monks from the 9th to the 13th centuries AD, (although man first settled here during the Roman period). The monks are responsible for the around a hundred churches, connected rock-cut houses and cloisters found in the valley, most of which are now buried, ruined, or used as stables.
Julia visited the Soğanlı valley in Cappadoccia, Turkey with Geppe Monrós in 2010 during the Abandoned? Project journey.
